There are two ways of adding family members to you home:

1) adding a user or

2) creating a door pin.

For family that lives in the house, we recommend creating a user, which will give them full access to the app, and allow home/away to function better. For other members of the family who only need occasional access to the home we recommend creating a door pin access code.

Step 1(creating a new user)

Using the otto app Navigate to Settings > Users. Tap the plus (+) icon in the top left corner. Enter the users name and email.

SMS NOTE: You can also send the invite link via text message, if the user doesn’t have access to email or the email is being blocked as spam.

Step 2

On the new users phone, download and instal the otto app first.  Then open the email sent from otto. This will open the app and finish the process. You will know it’s working normally when the new user see’s a flag asking for a change password

WARNING: DO NOT HAVE MULTIPLE USERS ON THE SAME ACCOUNT, THIS WILL CAUSE HOME/AWAY TO WORK INCORRECTLY. (HOME/AWAY ERROR)
